After a technical interview, try asking your candidates these five key questions to see if they're a good match and set them up for a successful placement:
"How do you think the interview went?"
Start by gauging the candidate's overall impression of the interview. This helps you understand their confidence level and any concerns they may have based on what they learned during the interview.
"What sort of questions were asked? Were there any tough ones?"
Identify any areas where the candidate struggled. This insight can help you prepare them for the next steps or the future candidates who interview with the same hiring manager.
"Is there anything you wish you had mentioned during the interview?"
This gives the candidate a chance to reflect on the interview and mention any key points they may have missed, which you can relay to the client if necessary.
"How would you rate your interest on a scale of 1 to 10?"
If it’s not a 10, find out what would make it one.
This helps gauge the candidate's excitement and identify any potential issues that might affect their decision to accept an offer. This way you get insights into what might be needed to secure their offer acceptance if they are selected.
"Did the interviewer share any feedback or next steps?"
Find out if the interviewer provided any immediate feedback or mentioned what to expect next. This can give you clues about the client’s interest and the process timeline.
