#016 The Top 5 Boolean Operators in the Order of Their Preference for Sourcing Talents Over the LinkedIn
Here are the top 5 Boolean Operators in the order of their preference for sourcing talents over the LinkedIn
Quotes(“”): Quotation marks are used to search for exact phrases of more than one word.
For example, “senior staff engineer”; search results for senior staff engineer. But, without quotation marks, it will include irrelevant matches based on the words “senior”, “staff”, and“engineer”
2. Parentheses [()]: To do a complex search, you can combine terms using parentheses.
For example, to find people who have "Developer" in their profiles, but exclude "manager" or recruiter, type:
developer AND C# NOT (manager OR recruiter)
3. NOT: Type the word NOT immediately before a search term that you want to exclude from your search results.
4. AND: Type the word AND to retrieve results that include all the words in a list.
5. OR: OR operators are used to broaden a search; these kinds of searches look for any one of the terms that you have entered.
Remember, these Boolean operators work only in the keyword field on the LinkedIn platform and don’t forget to capitalize NOT/AND /OR while running your searches over LinkedIn.
Last thing , I would say keep manipulating your search strings until you get the results you want.
Happy Sourcing!
